Procurement Tips

Sometimes it's hard to get started. So we've put together some ideas to get your creative juices flowing.

bulletWhat would you like? Think of experiences, items, trips which YOU would be interested in buying. Chances are, other people will pay for them, too!
bulletFind something special. Think of items and experiences that cannot be obtained anywhere else.
Ask yourself “Is this unique? Will people have fun with this?”
bulletLook to your family and friends. What do they do? Do you know a landscape artist? A pilot? A personal trainer? Does someone have a cabin for a relaxing weekend retreat?
bulletLook at yourself. What are your talents, and can you turn them into a fabulous procurement item?
Are you an amazing photographer? A wonderful cook? A hotshot ski instructor?
bulletCreate an experience. Think of events, concerts and parks that can donate free tickets and passes. Combine event tickets with a dinner and a hotel room for a fun “Night Out on the Town” package.
bulletWhere do you shop? Most businesses consider charity a part of doing business. Approach your favorite restaurants, health club and retail stores for a donation. Think BIG. Ask for the world! It’s great publicity for the company.
bulletBe creative with "packaging" items. Combine items to make a larger "theme" package.
bulletKnow any celebrities? A “day with” or “lunch with” a celebrity or sports star brings in big bucks. So do backstage passes, autographed sports memorabilia or great seats at a sporting event.
bulletThink back. Try to remember items that sold well at previous auctions you’ve attended.
bulletJoin the crowd. Get together with another person or two or three and put on a party (for adults or kids), theme dinner, scavenger hunt or some other event that you’ll have as much fun at as the winning bidders
