100       A DAY AT THE MOTORCYLE RACES

Looking for adventure? Well, get your motor running and join our born-to-be-wild teachers, Ms. Isaacson and Mr. Brown, for a day at the racetrack.  You'll be right in the action with your own pit pass!  Get up close and personal with the racers, have your picture taken, and even sit on some bikes! It will be a day to remember!
This special event will include lunch and is appropriate for 3 or 4 kids. Dates available:  March 30th, May 4th, June 15th, August 10th, August 31st, and October 5th.

103      AN AFRICAN SAVANNA TOUR AT THE WOODLAND PARK ZOO

Did you know that a giraffe's tongue is over 18 inches long? 106       MS. CARROLL'S FIRST GRADE CLASS PROJECT

Adorn your yard, and delight the birds, with this one of a kind keepsake. A whole lot of 1st grade creativity went into this copper birdbath, originally from Smith and Hawken. Decorated with a beautiful mosaic of tiles, designed and painted by different students, this birdbath would be an artful addition to any backyard.

107       MS. KEITH'S FIRST GRADE CLASS PROJECT

Watch out Mr. Chihuly! The 1st Graders in Ms. Keith's class have learned the art of glass blowing! For their project, they created 26 colorful glass balls, displayed in a beautiful glass bowl. Corey Hubbell, Aiden Hubbell's Uncle, graciously taught them how to create this beautiful masterpiece at the Redmond School of Glass.

108       MRS. LARA'S FIRST GRADE CLASS PROJECT

This beautiful "when I grow up" garden bench has been adorned with tiles created by each child. The tiles depict what they would like to be when they grow up.  A one-of-a-kind treasure!

The Laurelhurst "Honey Do's" will, as a group, provide 24 - 30 hrs of home maintenance and repair services to include landscaping maintenance and installation, fence or gate building or repair, deck repair or maintenance/cleaning, pressure wash decks and patios etc., window wash, gutter cleaning, demolition and junk removal, interior and exterior painting, light carpentry.

Exterior work to be done by 10/1/08, interior work to be done by 3/1/09. Does not include cost of materials, rental fees or dump fees if necessary.

Delight your child with a fanciful fairy party, hosted by Laurelhurst’s own pixies: Ms. Lara, Ms. Kyono, Ms. Bazzi, and Ms. Halperin. Fairy guests gather at Ms. Halperin’s home where they will be treated to the movie “Fairy Tale” and make their own fairy furniture out of twigs, dried flowers, and seed pods. Everyone will enjoy edible fairy treats and take home their very own flower fairy, handmade by the teachers. This party is suitable for current 2nd graders and older.  Pictures and a photo DVD will be created for each child to keep as a memento.

130       SURF AND TURF DINNER  FOR YMCA CAMP ORKILA

Be the hero of your Y-Guides group when you provide this great meal for all the dads !!!  That's right, next October, you'll stroll smugly into camp knowing that a cooler awaits you stocked with Alaska King Crab, marinated New York steaks, foil wrapped potatoes, and a dinner salad. You'll also be outfitted with a table cloth, potato fixings, butter for the crab, plates, utensils, votives, tiki torches, beverages (non-alcoholic), and cups. 131       A FLIGHT IN A HIGH PERFORMANCE STUNT PLANE

 

Gina, Grace and Michael Trask challenge you to experience a thrilling acrobatic stunt plane ride-they did it and loved it! Get your adrenaline flowing by taking a flight with Dr. Tom Roberts, a member of the Blackjacks acrobatic flight quadron.  Or, for the faint at heart, enjoy a scenic flight around Puget Sound for one hour.  you must be 18 years or older, less than 200 pounds and less than 6' 2" tall to be able to ride in this high performance stunt plane.
